Lot 2 - Penny & Rich

Last summer, Penny, Rich and Casey did quite a bit of work on their property and cabin.  They had all of the walls and rafters up and it covered in tarps before the winter came.

Then in June 2012, Penny & Rich came up to carry all of the supplies up to their cabin site that we had hauled out over the winter.  Under the tarp is plywood and roofing.

They also installed the plywood on the outside of the cabin.

Then, a couple weeks later Casey and his friends Dan and Tom came up to install the roof, windows and wood stove.

Below are some interior pictures:

A nice view from the big windows.

In June 2013, Casey installed the front door and a couple more windows, and built the stairs.  He also framed the bathroom walls and installed the fireplace.  Penny and Rich helped, and also greatly improved the trail to their cabin.

In September 2013, Penny and Rich started installing their cedar shake siding.

In December 2013, Greg went out to the property and found that a big tree had fallen, and pushed over several other smaller trees in front of Penny's and Rich's cabin.  Fortunately, they missed the cabin by about 30 feet,

In February and March 2014, Greg and Jennifer did some work on the siding for Penny's and Rich's cabin.  They started on the door side, but only went so far up since the stove pipe is not all of the way through the roof.  They'll finish that wall once the stove pipe is finished, so that the shingles don't get blackened or catch fire.

They also finished the front wall with all of the windows.  You would think that having the windows would make siding easier, but it does require a lot more cutting and figuring.

The siding was a birthday present from Penny to Rich.  Fortunately, we were able to keep it a secret until Rich arrived at the property on his birthday.  It was sure a nice surprise!

In June 2014, Penny and Rich spent about 10 days at their cabin,  Greg and Jennifer weren't around much, so Penny and Rich were mostly on their own and got to use their kitchen and new dining room table.

They were able to get their toilet installed and completely plumbed.

Penny also made the old futon look good with a new cover.

They also stained their siding and painted the trim around the windows and door.

Greg and Jennifer did some work on the siding this winter.  It's nearly done.

In April, Penny and Rich stained the siding on their cabin and built a deck.
It's starting to look amazing!

In early June, Casey and Amber came for a visit.  They worked on the electrical and installed most of  the kitchen cabinets.

In late June, Penny and Rich sanded and painted the beam and built some shelves under the stairs.

With some help from Ben and Eric, they also worked on the trail between the two cabins.

In August, Penny, Rich, Casey, Amber and the kids came up for a visit.  Casey built this fishing pole holder, did some electrical work, etc.

In November, Penny and Rich visited.  They installed their vanity and built a wall for the shower.  Rich also worked on the gutters and plumbing, and Penny finished insulating the ceiling.

The extra refrigerator space will help in the summer, too.
